Youth Ministry
Summer Fun for Students in Grades 7 to 12 At First United Methodist Church of Moore, there are many opportunities for youth to grow closer in their walk with Christ through fellowship, bible study, mission and worship.
Church School every Sunday morning from 9:30 am till 10:30 am for those attending Traditional Service or 10:50 am till 12:0O pm for those attending Contemporary Service. Teens learn about God, the Bible and the United Methodist Church. Community Family Dinner Every Wednesday youth and their families are invited to share in a free meal provided by the church from 5:30—6 pm. Family Game Shows Beginning May 30th from 6:00 – 6:20 pm, teens and families are encouraged to gather in the Fellowship Hall to play some of tv’s favorite game shows. It’s a time to bond together, learn together and laugh together. Praying in Color Beginning May 30th,at 6:20 – 7:00 pm youth will experience different ways in which they can pray. No special skills are needed only a desire to meet up with God. Movies and TV Shows with a Message, Beginning June 13th at 7:00 pm to 8:00, youth choose short movies, tv shows, or you tube videos to watch and discover how God can speak to them in a variety of ways. Youth After Dark, Beginning June 13th at 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, youth play games in the dark, video games, board games and enjoy time hanging out together. Youth Prayer Team Teens who feel called to be in prayer ministry meet on Wednesdays at 4 pm to pray for church members and send cards and letters. 2 Timothy Tuesdays Beginning June 12th, youth who wish to learn more about being a disciple arrive at 9:30 am. They will dig deeper into God’s word and then go out into the world to be His Hands and Feet as they take His message into mission. Ends at 4 pm. Youth Force OKC – Youth participate in a local missions week in downtown OKC where they repair and paint senior citizens’ and economically disadvantaged homes. Senior High Mission Week – this year, our students entering grades 10 – graduated seniors and our young adults will travel to Farmington, new Mexico to serve at the Navajo United Methodist Center which reaches out to battered women and their children. Scheduled for July 7 – 14th.
